In short, string theory is an attempt at finding the one rule of physics that applies to everything. This theory states that everything in the universe, including space, is made up of tiny strings, too minute to be observed directly, which vibrate. Think of a string instrument, such as a violin, and how their strings vibrate to produce certain musical notes. In string theory, the quality of the vibrations determine the characteristics of an object. Basically, how the strings vibrate determine the mass, color, texture and all other characteristics of an object. The vibration would determine if it produces an apple or a star.

You may be wondering why I have included string theory under the category of spirituality instead of just another page detailing things interesting to me. The answer is because I believe this theory directly relates to spirituality.

In witchcraft we learn that we have the ability to create change based on our will and intent. It has been my personal experience that when I focus my will on creating change, the world around me disappears. Well, not really but I am concentrating so completely that I am only aware of my intent. There's a certain point where I know I am creating the change intended because my face feels hot and my ears start ringing. I know there are probably numerous explanations for this, including my inclination to, unknowingly, hold my breath for the duration of my session. I believe these are symptoms of the overall act of changing my universe.

At any rate, what I believe is happening is I am focusing my energy and based on my strong intent, this directed energy is vibrating according to my will. This vibration is changing the fabric of the universe.

Ralph Waldo Emerson says that "We become what we think about all day long." In the context I've explained here, that is exactly true. If we surround our minds with sadness and grief, these are the vibrations we send into the universe and this creates change in our lives, albeit negative change. The opposite is true, also. This also falls in line with Karmic Law and the Wiccan Three Fold Law. It all comes down to energy and vibrations people!

Ultimately, I believe energy is the source of these vibrations. That energy may be seen as pure energy or in the form of an intelligent being some choose to call God or Deity. My thoughts on this are a bit wacky, needing elaboration, so won't include them here but most likely under my God Theory page.

I'm most certainly not an expert on string theory and I'm sure I only understand a thimble-full of the information available. I hope this has served to spark your interest and you continue on your own path of research. I may expand this section to include the suggestion that different string theories are just different expressions of the same underlying theory: M-Theory. But that's a little ways off as I continue my research.
